The potential of NGos in climate action: tools and good practices

Are you a professional in the field of development cooperation and humanitarian aid? Are you a student or academic in this field? Do you operate in the non-profit sector and believe that organisations can and should do more to combat the climate crisis?

Thursday 28 November 2024 from 11.00 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. CET in a free webinar to present and test together the practical tools we have designed for the Development Cooperation and Humanitarian aid sector (DC&H)

The (e)mission (im)possible project stems from the conviction that the DC&H sector can and must take a clear stand against the climate crisis. Not only by becoming aware of the emissive impact of its work, but also by amplifying the demands and voices of the climate justice movements through its projects and  lobbying.

In more than two years of the project, we have worked to create and bring together knowledge and practical tools that can strengthen the capacities of professionals, students, volunteers and academics and constitute a fundamental basis for training and action for the decarbonisation of the cooperation and humanitarian aid sector: a 25-hour MOOC (Massive Open Online Course), a Climate Strategy Toolkit and a guide to replicate the learning pathway developed.

After a short presentation, a large part of the webinar will be devoted to a practical session on developing a step-by-step climate strategy. Starting with an imaginary scenario, we will work in groups and test the different tools to build an NGO's climate strategy.

See you online on Thursday 28 November from 11 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.!

The event will be held in English and will be attended by representatives of the consortium of NGOs and university institutions of the (e)mission (im)possible project: AID GLOBAL, A Sud, Bosque y Comunidad, Iroko DFS, Un Ponte Per, Universidad de Cadiz.
